D365 Financials: Exploring Web Services

By Steve Endow

I finally had some time recently to review the D365 Financials web services.

In the video below, I review the following items:

1. Reviewing and adding web services
2. Object Types (Codeunit, Page, Query)
3. Different types of Object IDs (Customers vs. Customer Card, Items vs. Item Card)
4. ODataV4 vs. OData vs. SOAP URLs
5. JSON vs. XML data
6. Using JSON View and XML Tree extensions in Chrome to view web service data
7. One option for filtering / retrieving a single record with a URL parameter

If you have any good tips of using the D365 Financials web services or have found some good documentation on the details of setup, data, and parameters / filtering, please post a comment!
